| Frosty's Playhouse Clan now accepting Applications!
The -FP- Clan is a 18 and over clan! Most of the members are between 18 and 50 years old. We are a mature group of individuals that enjoy playing with similar players.

If we get enough interest in other games, those could be added to the list as well. If you are interested in a game not listed above, put a note in the forums and we'll see what we can do.
The number one rule of the -FP- clan, is to have fun. Although it's nice to win the game, to us, having fun is more important. We are strong believers in the old saying 'It's not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game'.
Unlike most traditional clans, -FP- does not use a rank system. We have found that, although members like to move their way up through the ranks, they often abuse their status. This comes in the form of users 'pulling rank' on other members and 'ordering' them around. This can create a tense environment and distracts from the fun.
What Frosty's Playhouse Clan is:
A group of players that enjoy playing Online Computer Games as much as we do A 'social' group of players that want to have fun A group of players with similar, positive attitudes Players that use skill to play the game Players that can work together as a team Players with good sportsmanship
What Frosty's Playhouse Clan is not:
A place for member that want to move their way up in a clan Excessively competitive players Players with no skill whatsoever - Although you don't have to be a great player to join the clan, we don't want players that feel the use of tracking weapons require skill. Whiners - Nothing ruins a game more than players constantly whining about one thing or another. Bossy and/or rude players Hackers - Frosty's Playhouse Clan and Servers will not tolerate any players hacking! Hackers will be booted from the game and their names added to a list of hackers available to all game Admins. Clan members caught hacking will be removed from the clan on any offense. No warnings or second chances when it comes to hackers.

 | | | | | | | | | | | | General News : Mutated Worm Spreads Through MSN Messenger |
| shadoe_runner writes " A new variant of the Bropia worm is fast spreading through popular Internet chat program MSN Messenger.
Computer security companies AhnLab and Hauri said Thursday that they found a variant of the virus which infects users of MSN Messenger by sending itself as a picture file.
> Infected computers slow down to a crawl. The virus automatically sends itself to others in the user’s list of contacts.
“If you receive a file that you are not expecting, even if it is from someone in your contacts list, don’t open it.” says MSN. Users should download a patch program from security companies.
The latest worm to wriggle its way around the Web is spreading as quickly as an instant message. A new variant of Bropia, first discovered by Symantec (Nasdaq: SYMC) Latest News about Symantec on Jan. 19, has mutated and is whipping around the Internet via MSN Messenger communications.
Several antivirus companies, including Trend Micro (Nasdaq: TMIC) Latest News about Trend Micro, Symantec, Secunia and F-Secure, have all labeled the worm a "medium" risk, but one analyst said he thinks that risk may be understated.
It seems as if a number of antivirus vendors are assuming in their risk-ratings that most enterprises will be filtering IM-type content, but in today's world, both personnel in the business IBM eServer xSeries Systems community as well as home users are using IM to communicate," Ed Moyle of Security Curve told TechNewsWorld.
"So, while I agree that the home user is the most likely victim for this worm, I don't think we can rule out the enterprise entirely."
Bropia.F, the latest variant, seeks out all online contacts and attempts to send copies of itself using a photo file called sexy.jpg. The photo is actually a picture of a chicken with a bikini tan line. A Second Worm
The infected message also bears the Agobot worm as part of its payload. Agobot can open a backdoor on infected systems and may then allow commands from a remote malicious user.
The worm uses sex-related file names such as Bedroom-thongs.pif, Hot.pif, Naked_drunk.pif, New_webcam.pif, and underwear.pif.
Bropia.F has been reported in the United States, China, Korea and Taiwan, and Moyle said he wouldn't be surprised if it fanned out further very shortly.
"I think this one has the potential to spread quickly," he said. "Similar to a mass-mailer worm, this worm relies on the user to explicitly open the file in order to spread. However, unlike e-mail, most people aren't as alert for malicious files spread through messaging programs as they would be for files received through e-mail.
"In addition, there are some extremely sophisticated e-mail antivirus tools on the market that integrate with e-mail and groupware servers, but we don't see the same capacity for antivirus on IM content," Moyle said."

 | | | | | | | | | | | | General News : An offer you can't refuse. |
| shadoe_runner writes "Ok, it's been a slow few days for news related to AvP, Battlefield: Vietnam, Half-Life and CS. so here something from yesterday put out by EA.
According to a statement issued by EA late today, the Godfather is set for a fall 2005 release on the PlayStation 2, Xbox, PSP, and PC. While "the book by Mario Puzo and classic film by Paramount Pictures serve as inspiration for the game," it will also offer up an all-new storyline featuring characters from the film. Players will begin by creating their own character, a low-end hood trying to earn on the mean streets of New York City from 1945 to 1955. After working a series of small-time jobs and earning a modi***** of respect, the character will join the storied Corleone family and interact with figures from the film such as family heir Sonny Corleone (Caan), consigliere Tom Hagen (Duvall), and the capo di tutti capi, Don Vito Corleone (Brando).
The Godfather will feature Grand Theft Auto-style nonlinear gameplay, which will "offer gamers countless choices for solving the family’s problems with brutal violence, skillful diplomacy, or a cunning mixture of both," according to EA. Mission types will run the entire criminal gamut, including simple shakedowns, bank robberies, drive-by shootings, and high-profile hits. The game will also have a branching plotline à la Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II, where "decisions made by the player in the game will have lasting consequences."
"We are incredibly excited and honored to have the opportunity to bring the fiction of The Godfather to life in a video game," said executive producer David DeMartini. "The Godfather movies raised the standard for cinematic achievement with their high level of drama and intense storytelling, and in fall 2005 gamers will be able to experience that dangerous and living world of The Godfather for themselves."
The Godfather is being developed internally by EA at its central Redwood Shores studio. Though no rating has been officially announced yet, executives have said it will definitely carry an M for Mature rating. "

 | | | | | | | | | | | | General News : Layoffs and Restructuring at EA LA |
| shadoe_runner writes "According to sources close to the company, Electronic Arts is currently in the process of laying off between 50-70 team members from its minty-fresh new EA LA office. The teams affected worked on the poorly-recieved GoldenEye: Rogue Agent and the forthcoming Medal of Honor: Dogs of War FPS titles.
We had a chance to speak with Neil Young, General Manager of the EA LA studio. Previously tasked with heading up the incredibly successful Maxis studio (home of The Sims) and EA's Lord of the Rings brand, he's now moved in to EA LA and intends to "rebalance" the studio for the next generation of console games.
According to Young, "The first step is to rebalance the team. This has required us to let go 60 people -- from many different teams. There is no focus on any one team or any one class of individuals. It's a studio-wide thing to reset the business fundamentals and get the studio to the next level."
It's now clear that the confirmed 60 layoffs are not heavily confined to one team or another, countering early rumors that the GoldenEye or Medal of Honor teams were specifically targerted -- countering the implication that the underperformance of certain games might have been the catalyst.
In fact, Young muses when asked about Rogue Agent, "We learned a lot from GoldenEye and we'll take that knowledge and build from that. GoldenEye has sold very well, although not as critically acclaimed as we would like, certainly from a financial standpoint it isn't really disappointing."
"The bigger issue for me has very little to do with GoldenEye and a lot more to do with the transition we are moving into for the next generation. We need to make sure this studio can be a powerhouse for the next gen platforms. It has nothing to do with GoldenEye or titles we've shipped in the past and a lot more to do with where we want to take this studio in the future."
Young was also careful to note that the studio is not downsizing massively. EA LA, which is the home of EA publishing, EA Trax music, and EA's mobile gaming, still employs 320 people, post-layoffs.
This reporters comments My take on this is that EA may have over-stepped their bounds a bit. They are buying out game design firms ( DICE ) Working out multi-million dollar deals to get exclusive rights ( NFL liscensing ) and in general being a pain in the butt to Ubisoft. If one were to do the math you would see what I mean. It's not just from poor game sales, one report even had games selling last year at a rate of 8 games per second of last year ( Article here ) This is a rather intresting turn of events. "

 | | | | | | | | | | | | General News : DOOM 3: Resurrection Of Evil Announced |
| shadoe_runner writes "Activision and id Software today announced the upcoming release of a DOOM 3 expansion titled, DOOM 3: Resurrection Of Evil. The first expansion for the title and co-developed by Nerve Software, DOOM 3: Resurrection Of Evil will follow the events of the original game, focusing on an artifact that’s found to have the power of Hell. The expansion will feature feature new locations, characters and weapons, including the double-barreled shotgun.
"DOOM 3 defines first-person cinematic action, and the expansion pack continues right where we left off -- with a terrifying atmosphere, a new story and one of the most classic weapons ever, the double-barreled shotgun," states Todd Hollenshead, CEO, id Software. "Now that fans have survived the horrors and edge of your seat action of the original, DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil delivers players deeper into the heart of the UAC to uncover new secrets and technology used to destroy the demon force that's Hell-bent on destroying you."
DOOM 3: Resurrection Of Evil, in addition to the new features mentioned above, will also include additional multiplayer support, this time including support for up to eight-players across new maps. DOOM 3: Resurrection Of Evil, as with most expansions, will require the original game to play, and has yet-to-be rated by the ESRB."
